We're looking for an applied mathematician for a Ph.D. examining evolutionary models for ecological niches. The candidate would work with Prof David Bryant (Mathematics and Statistics) and Prof. Steven Higgins (Ecology) studying the ways that species niches change over time, their relationship with speciation, and how we can work with these mathematically.The candidate needs to have some programming experience, and an enthusiasm (if not background) in the life sciences.The postdoctoral scholarship is funded by a Marsden grant, paying NZ$25,000 plus fees and a travel budget.
