Problem Challenge Competition Collections

The Problem Challenge competition has been running since 1991. Each year Intermediate School children tackle 25 challenging maths questions of a problem solving nature.
These questions have been collected together in six books, along with fully worked solutions, suggestions for extension activities and an introduction to problem solving. They provide invaluable resources, not only as preparation for new Problem Challenge competitions, but also for honing problem solving skills at levels from Primary School through to High School.
The Final Challenge has run since 1999 and consists of harder questions. It is offered at the end of the year to children who score well in the main competition.
All competition books are spiral bound.
From 2025 they should be purchased from The University Book Shop — see below for ordering details and link.
